Marillana

The 100% owned Marillana Iron Ore Project (“Marillana” or ‘the Project”) is Brockman Resources flagship project located in the Hamersley Iron Province (see Figure 1) within the Pilbara region of Western Australia approximately 100km north west of the township of Newman.  The Project is located within mining leases M47/1414 and M47/1419 (see Figure 2).

The Project area covers 96km2 of the Fortescue Valley and borders the Hamersley Range, where extensive areas of supergene iron ore mineralisation have developed within the dissected Brockman Iron Formation which caps the range.

Marillana is surrounded by world-class deposits owned by major iron ore players including BHP Billiton (“BHPB”), Rio Tinto (“Rio”) and Fortescue Metals Group (“FMG”). Marillana is in close proximity to existing infrastructure, with BHPB’s railway traversing the lease, Rio’s Yandicoogina mine 40km south and FMG’s Cloud Break mine approximately 35km north east. The Marillana tenement is also bisected by a gazette road and is in close proximity to working mines and airstrips. Brockman will export its ore through the Port of Port Hedland – the largest bulk commodity (iron ore) facility in Australia.

Marillana has a significant mineral resource estimate of 1.63Bt of hematite (CID and Detrital) mineralisation comprising 173Mt of Measured Mineral Resources, 1,238Mt of Indicated Mineral Resources and 219Mt of Inferred Mineral Resources (see Tables 1 and 2).

The Marillana Project will support a minimum of 20 years mining operations producing at a forecast production rate of 17-20Mtpa of beneficiated iron ore grading from 60.5-61.5% Iron (“Fe”).

Indigenous Heritage

There are no established Aboriginal communities in the vicinity; however, the Project area is subject to two non-overlapping Native Title Claims. The western half of the licence is held by Martu Idja Banyjima (“MIB”) people and the eastern half of the licence is held by the Nyiyaparli people. Native Title Agreements are in place between Brockman and both groups.

The Native Title Agreements address the native title claimants concerns regarding the management of Cultural Heritage and protection of the lands on which the Project will be operated, as well as providing them with opportunities to participate in the Project, through employment, training and contracting opportunities.

Project Benefits

Australia is the world’s largest exporter and the world’s third largest producer of iron ore after China and Brazil. Although iron ore resources occur in all the Australian States and Territories, almost 90% of identified resources occur in Western Australia.

Western Australia’s economy is heavily dependent on mineral resources, and its future growth and development rely on the continued viability of resource development projects. The nearby town of Newman has developed as a result of mineral exploitation, and requires ongoing resource projects to provide revenue to the community. The development of the Project will provide financial and social benefits for the area through employment and flow-on effects to the non-mining sector.

The Project will have a significant beneficial impact on the Pilbara region, bringing revenue and jobs to the area.

Competant Persons Statement

The information in this report that relates to Mineral Resources is based on information compiled by Mr J Farrell and Mr A Zhang.

Mr J Farrell, who is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a full-time employee of Golder Associates Pty Ltd, produced the Mineral Resource estimates based on the data and geological interpretations provided by Brockman.  Mr Farrell has sufficient experience that is relevant to the style of mineralisation, type of deposit under consideration and to the activity that he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 edition of the ‘Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration, Results, Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves.  Mr Farrell consents to the inclusion in this report of the matters based on his information in the form and context that the information appears.

Mr A Zhang, who is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a full-time employee of Brockman Resources Limited, provided the geological interpretations and the drill hole data used for the Mineral Resource estimation.  Mr Zhang has sufficient experience that is relevant to the style of mineralisation, type of deposit under consideration and to the activity that he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 edition of the ‘Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration, Results, Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves.  Mr Zhang consents to the inclusion in this report of the matters based on his information in the form and context that the information appears.

Any discussion of potential mineralisation in excess of the identified Mineral Resources at Marillana any is only conceptual in nature.  While the Company remains optimistic that it will report resources and reserves in the future, there has been insufficient exploration in those areas to define a Mineral Resource and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the determination of a Mineral Resource.
