Brockman Resources Limited (formerly Yilgarn Mining Limited) was established in 2002 as a gold and nickel exploration and development company. The recent name change in November 2007 is indicative of new iron ore focus of the company.

Brockman Resources is aggressively targeting iron ore production by 2009. This new direction was spurred by the strong demand for iron ore. Brockman's iron ore is predominantly based on its Marillana Project in the Pilbara where the total Mineral Resource now exceeds 1.1 billion tonnes of iron ore.
